Shaker Style Hallway Bench
Join us in this informative workshop to create a timeless Shaker-style bench while honing your skills with table, miter, and band saws. This project is designed for longevity and will enhance the craftsmanship within your home.
What You’ll Learn:
- Cross and Rip Cuts: Achieve precision in straight and angled cuts using table and miter saws.
- Curved Cuts: Acquire the ability to cut refined curves with a band saw.
- Dados: Develop an understanding of cutting basic dados for enhanced stability.
- Through-Mortise and Tenon Joints: Learn to create robust, traditional joinery.
- Doweling Techniques: Master the use of dowels to reinforce glued joints.
Note: This class has a minimum age of 15.

My journey began with grade school projects and blossomed at Bucks Rock as a camper and counselor. From theater sets to boat building, I’ve embraced woodturning as my core hobby. Now, as a marketer turned woodworking teacher, I’m thrilled to share the joy of “making” with others. Let’s shape creativity together!
Most of our classes utilize reclaimed lumber. This class utilizes milled lumber to reduce the build time. We can add a session if you desire to mill your lumber for this class.
Our Focus on Safety
- Respect the shop rules and safety guidelines before using any tools or equipment.
- N95 masks, safety glasses, and gloves are provided.
- Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty. The glues, paints, and stains we use can permanently stain clothes.
The maximum class size to allow for highly personalized instruction and attention is four (4) people. Let me know if you would like a larger size and we can certainly bring along an assistant to help out.
