Create Your Own Bowl 

This beginner-friendly class will guide you through the essential techniques and approaches to safely turn a small bowl (4 – 6 inches in diameter). Whether you’re new to wood turning or have some experience, this class is tailored to your skill level.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Understanding Wood: The importance of wood species and grain direction.
  • Tool Mastery: How to use face plates and chucks effectively.
  • Tool Comparison: The differences and benefits of carbide vs. traditional high-speed steel (HSS) turning tools.
  • Turning Techniques: Proper use of roughing tools, bowl gouges, parting tools, and other turning tools.
  • Finishing Touches: How to sand and apply a food-safe finish to your bowl.

This class is designed for those who have never turned a bowl before, but it can be easily adjusted for students with prior turning or woodworking experience.

Note: This class is limited to a maximum of two participants to ensure personalized instruction.
