Getting Started with Hand-cut Dovetails
Acquire skills in hand-cutting half-blind and full-blind dovetails while constructing a drawer that utilizes these joints for strength and durability.
This workshop complements our Hand-Cut Dovetail Drawer Making and Advanced Cabinetry Workshops, which may be taken independently if desired.
IMPORTANT: This class requires a set of dovetail chisels. Contact us if you need a recommendation.
Note: This class has a minimum age of 15.

This utilizes wood from purchased from local hardwood suppliers.
Our Focus on Safety
- Respect the shop rules and safety guidelines before using any tools or equipment.
- N95 masks, safety glasses, and gloves are provided.
- Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty. The glues, paints, and stains we use can permanently stain clothes.
The maximum class size to allow for highly personalized instruction and attention is four (4) people. Let me know if you would like a larger size and we can certainly bring along an assistant to help out.
