This bowl was hand-turned from a single piece of oak carefully shaped on the lathe to bring out the grain’s natural flow. I don’t use templates or mass production—each form develops slowly, guided by the wood itself.
It’s been finished with mineral oil and beeswax, which gives it a soft sheen and highlights the subtle details in the grain. This is a nice odd two-level bowl with lower area into a knot that was in the wood.
This is the kind of piece that doesn’t shout for attention, but it draws your eye anyway. It’s meant to be a quiet showstopper on a shelf, table, or mantle.
Height: ~4 in.
Opening Diameter: ~ 5.5 in.
Base Width: ~ 4 in.
Finish: Mineral oil and beeswax
Water-Safe: Yes
- Weight: 1.35 lbs.
Care: Dust it gently or wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Use any oil to sharpen color now and then.
Each bowl I make is one-of-a-kind. No two are alike. That’s what makes it special.
