Machine Woodworking 101
Acquire knowledge of machine safety and milling techniques while creating a sliding lid wine box. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of wood movement, jointing, planning, ripping, grooves, dados, glue-ups, and surface preparation for finishing.
Note: This class has a minimum age of 15.
About Justin Garnache
Justin is a graduate of the North Bennet Street School’s Cabinet and Furniture Making program. A maker in Boston for 20 years, Justin launched Atelier Garnache to combine his love of furniture making with his love of music. Justin teaches and has his studio in Needham, MA and lives with his wife and daughter in Boston.
Most of our classes utilize reclaimed lumber.
Our Focus on Safety
- Respect the shop rules and safety guidelines before using any tools or equipment.
- N95 masks, safety glasses, and gloves are provided.
- Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty. The glues, paints, and stains we use can permanently stain clothes.
The maximum class size to allow for highly personalized instruction and attention is four (4) people. Let me know if you would like a larger size and we can certainly bring along an assistant to help out.
