Would anyone like to join me for some rock hounding in Maine on Sep 27 and 28? I will be headed up to Mt Apatite, Auburn, ME 04210 and would welcome the company.
Geologic Site of the Month: Mount Apatite Park
East Mount Apatite Mining District, Auburn, Androscoggin County, Maine, USA
My plan is to leave Sharon around 6 or so on the 4th rain or shine. Then to arrive and enjoy collecting for as long as we desire. Depending on how we feel we could either head back that afternoon/evening or stay overnight and check out one of the other locations on Sunday.
I will be bringing a variety of tools, such as rock hammers, pry bards, shovels, screens, buckets, wash basins and water. You should be sure to bring lunch, snacks, water and gear for overnight in case we make it a two-day adventure.
Let me know what you think – dan@themakershive.org
